Slip away from the city and step into a quieter, deeper rhythm one where the forest breathes, the candlelight flickers, and the moon above beckons you inward.
Join us at Patch of Heaven Sanctuary as we gather under August’s Sturgeon Moon, named by Native traditions for the great fish once most bountiful in the summer waters of the Great Lakes. This moon, a supermoon and rare blue moon, whispers of introspection and soul-tending—a sacred time to gather strength, realign, and root down.
You’ll journey on foot, gently and mindfully, through the untouched stillness of our 123-year-old forest. These are the less-traveled paths, winding deeper into our hammock toward the Thai Meditation Joglo, where a sea of candlelight awaits.
Here, we invite you to pause. To listen. To feel. This isn’t just a walk. It’s a Forest Bathing Experience guided by the rhythm of the moonlight and the breath of the trees. Your host for the evening, Suzanne Jewell, our Chief Experience Officer and Founder of the Mindful Pocket Park, will lead you through the night. With training from UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center and years as a mindfulness and forest therapy guide, Suzanne brings the science of presence into the poetry of nature. If the forest is calling you, we hope you’ll answer.
