Suzanne Jewell serves as Chief Experience Officer at Patch of Heaven Sanctuary.
She is the founder of the Mindful Pocket Park℠ at Patch.
She is certified through UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center and Sounds True mindfulness training.
She is also an Executive Resilience Coach and trained Forest Therapy guide.
Before this chapter, Suzanne was a global TV executive and marketing communications expert.
High-achieving. High-speed. Until it all stopped.
She experienced burnout.
She lived through complex PTSD.
And chose a new path—
what she calls “putting her tush on a cush.”
During COVID, flooding displaced her home.
As a climate refugee, she landed at the Open Awareness Buddhist Center.
She stayed for 18 months.
There, she took Vows of Refuge.
Her daily practice included circumambulation—kora walking around sacred stupas.
Supporting the lama. Living the path of liberation.
And paddling the Little River by kayak.
Recording floating meditations—Pockets of Peace—
“inviting others to float in the boat” with her.
