Step into the heart of nature and awaken your inner guide through our Mindfulness Based Nature Training.
Patch of Heaven Sanctuary has innovated with over 7,000 retreat guests experiencing our nature-focused ecowellness experiences led by Suzanne Jewell, our CEO. From these bespoke immersions across our 20 acre forest preserve and nature sanctuary has emerged a body of ancient wisdom that meets modern neuroscience. As Patch’s mission is to reconnect Human Nature with Mother Nature, through mindfulness, for the benefit of both, the mindfulness techniques of attention training and nature experiences have coalesced to weave together a training program of how to “Awaken In Nature”. Practices you will learn that stem from the mindfulness root, include how to Pause & P.A.W.S. (Pay Attention with Your Senses), the breath practice of How to Be The Tree, seated practice of how to Be the Rock, and moving meditation of How to Be The Butterfly. Techniques on forest therapy will include noting, naming, walking and the Magic Spot practice. Suzanne’s depth of training from UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, living for two years at a Buddhist Center, the Harvard True North program her training in heart-rate variability with Heartmath, ICF Life coaching and ongoing training as a Dharma teacher are the guiding light of what this 11 week course will consist of.
